What You’ll Be Doing as a Payroll Tax Analyst:
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of federal, state and local payroll taxes.
- Maintain compliance with multi-state payroll tax regulations an reporting requirements.
- Reconcile payroll tax accounts and investigate discrepancies.
- Prepare and file payroll tax returns (quarterly and annual).
- Monitor tax notices and respond to inquiries from government agencies.
- Partner with payroll, HR, and finance teams to ensure proper tax treatment of wages and benefits.
- Support year-end processes including W-2 preparation and distribution.
- Assist with audits and provide documentation as needed.
- Identify opportunities to improve payroll tax processes and systems.
Preferred Qualifications of the Payroll Tax Analyst:
- 3-6 years of payroll tax experience, preferably in multi-state environment.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.
- experience with payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Workday, or similar platforms).
- Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities.
- High attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to manage deadlines in a deadline-driven environment.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
