About the Role:
We are partnering with one of our clients in the West Covina area who is looking to bring on a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to support their team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has strong experience processing high-volume payroll accurately and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Process high-volume, multi-state payroll on a regular basis (weekly/biweekly) Ensure accuracy of payroll data including wages, bonuses, commissions, and deductions Maintain and audit payroll records, timekeeping data, and employee information Handle payroll adjustments, corrections, and off-cycle payments as needed Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, taxes, and deductions Support payroll reporting and reconciliation, including general ledger tie-outs Partner with HR and Accounting teams on payroll-related processes and improvements
Qualifications:
Minimum 3+ years of high-volume payroll processing experience (required) Strong understanding of payroll laws, taxes, and compliance requirements
Experience with payroll systems such as ADP, UKG, Workday, or similar Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP preferred) High attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs.
