Join Our Team as a Payroll Specialist!
Are you a detail-driven payroll professional who takes pride in accuracy and compliance? We’re looking for a Payroll Specialist to support the timely and accurate processing of payroll for our growing, multi-state workforce.
In this role, you’ll partner closely with our Benefits & Payroll Manager and collaborate across HR and leadership teams to ensure employees are paid correctly and on time, every time.
What You’ll Do
Payroll Processing
- Process bi-weekly payroll for a multi-state employee population
- Handle off-cycle payments, garnishments, retro pay, PTO payouts, and terminations
- Ensure compliance with company policies and federal/state regulations
Data & Systems
- Maintain payroll data within HRIS and timekeeping systems
- Review and validate timekeeping and payroll data for accuracy
- Support system updates, testing, and process improvements
Employee Support
- Respond to payroll-related inquiries with professionalism and urgency
- Research and resolve payroll discrepancies
Compliance & Reconciliation
- Process wage garnishments and ensure regulatory compliance
- Reconcile payroll data and assist with reporting
Audit & Year-End Support
- Assist with audits and year-end activities, including W-2 preparation
Collaboration
- Partner with HR and Benefits teams to ensure accurate employee data and deductions
- Work with managers to resolve timekeeping and payroll issues
Recordkeeping
- Maintain accurate payroll records while ensuring confidentiality
What You Bring
- Minimum 3 years of payroll experience, preferably in a multi-state or high-volume environment
- Experience with payroll systems such as Kronos, Dayforce, or similar
- Strong understanding of payroll laws, regulations, and best practices
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Preferred:
- Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, or related field
- Payroll certification (FPC or CPP)
