POSITION INFO:

A well‑established organization within the agricultural sector, based in Pretoria East, is appointing a Payroll Administrator on a fixed‑term contract. This role is ideal for experienced payroll professionals who thrive in contract positions, enjoy taking ownership of the full payroll function, and are confident stepping into an environment where accuracy and compliance are critical.

This is a hands‑on role with clearly defined deliverables, established systems, and a strong need for immediate impact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the full payroll function, including monthly payroll processing.
  • Handle EMP201 and interim tax submissions, ensuring legislative compliance.
  • Process claims and payroll adjustments accurately and timeously.
  • Perform payroll reconciliations and prepare journal entries for capture.
  • Respond to and resolve staff payroll queries professionally.
  • Ensure accurate payroll records, reports, and statutory submissions.

Job Experience and Skills Required:

  • Grade 12 / Payroll Certificate / Diploma; qualification open.
  • Minimum 2+ years’ payroll experience.
  • Exposure to the agricultural sector would be advantageous (open to all industries).
  • Solid understanding of South African payroll legislation.
  • SAGE VIP experience is essential (non‑negotiable).
  • Detail‑driven, deadline‑focused, and comfortable in a contract environment.
  • Strong communication and relationship‑management skills.
