Position Overview
We are a leading global asset manager with a significant operational presence across key financial hubs in the Americas, EMEA, and APAC. Our Middle Office is a critical function, providing robust trade support, corporate action, reconciliation, and cash management services to our investment teams and clients worldwide.
We are seeking a forward-thinking and results-driven Analyst to join our APAC Middle Office team in Hong Kong. This role has a primary and dedicated focus on Corporate Actions and Cash/Reconciliation oversight. You will be a key liaison for stakeholders across the Asia Pacific region and will play a central role in overseeing our outsourced Middle Office service provider, ensuring operational excellence, risk control, and seamless post-trade processes.
Core Responsibilities & Impact
You will be responsible for the day-to-day oversight and control of outsourced Middle Office functions. Your expertise will directly ensure the accuracy and integrity of corporate action processing and cash/position reconciliation, directly impacting operational stability and investment decision support in APAC.
- Oversight & Control: Execute daily oversight controls for outsourced Middle Office activities, with specialized attention to corporate actions (voluntary/mandatory), cash management, and daily/monthly reconciliations across all asset classes including equities, fixed income, FX, and derivatives.
- Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary Business-As-Usual (BAU) point of contact for Middle Office inquiries, professionally managing requests from internal teams (e.g., Portfolio Management, Trading, Compliance) and external parties (e.g., brokers, custodians, service providers).
- Issue Resolution & Analysis: Proactively identify, escalate, and resolve operational incidents. Conduct in-depth root cause analysis and contribute to implementing preventative measures to strengthen the control environment.
- Process Enhancement: Identify and advocate for process improvements, automation, and efficiency gains within corporate action and reconciliation workflows.
- Vendor Governance: Proactively monitor and challenge the Middle Office service provider to ensure adherence to service level agreements (SLAs) and maintain high standards of accuracy and timeliness.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience: 6-10 years of relevant Middle Office experience within the asset management or banking sector, with substantial, hands-on expertise in corporate actions processing and cash/position reconciliation.
- Product Knowledge: Strong understanding of global financial instruments (equities, fixed income, FX, derivatives) and related front-to-back office workflows, including collateral management.
- Market Knowledge: Solid grasp of APAC market-specific settlement cycles, corporate action timelines, and market practices. Awareness of relevant regional regulations is advantageous.

- A continuous improvement mindset, comfortable questioning existing processes.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Language: Fluency in English (written and spoken) is essential. Proficiency in Cantonese or Mandarin is highly preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Direct experience working within an outsourced or third-party Middle Office operating model.
- Experience with digitalization initiatives or basic programming/scripting skills (e.g., Python, SQL, VBA).
- Knowledge of Bloomberg AIM, or similar investment management platforms.
Technology & Analytical Proficiencies
- Data Analysis: Ability to work with and interpret operational data to identify trends, exceptions, and control gaps.
- Productivity Tools: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365 (especially Excel). Familiarity with workflow automation tools or AI-augmented platforms is a plus.
