This role supports the financial health and operational effectiveness of CEE by supporting core finance, human resources, and administrative functions. This position reports to the Senior Director of Finance & Operations and ensures that financial resources, systems, processes, and people practices are aligned to support CEE's mission and strategic priorities.

The Manager combines financial and operational management with a collaborative, service-oriented approach to supporting staff, products, and organizational growth. The position is responsible for providing day-to-day support in the areas of financial operations, HR administration and audit/compliance while helping to drive organizational efficiency and sustainability.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

Finance & Accounting Operations

  • Support organizational budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and reporting processes.
  • Support accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities.
  • Support the annual audit, Form 990 preparation, and other regulatory filings.
  • Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards, grant requirements, and internal financial policies.
  • Assist with financial modeling and analysis to support program sustainability and organizational growth.

Operations & Program Support

  • Oversee day-to-day operational processes and administrative functions.
  • Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and procurement activities.
  • Maintain organizational policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Support publications and other operational activities that contribute to organizational impact and revenue generation.

People Operations

  • Administer HR systems, employee records, benefits enrollment, leave management, and personnel documentation.
  • Coordinate recruitment administration including job postings, candidate scheduling, onboarding, and offboarding processes.
  • Support payroll administration and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations.
  • Maintain employee data, HR reporting, and workforce analytics to support organizational planning and decision-making.
  • Partner with HR Director to support employee engagement and organizational culture initiatives.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Human Resources or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in finance and operations, preferably within a nonprofit organization
  • Experience managing budgets, financial reporting, grants, and nonprofit compliance requirements.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present financial information clearly to non-financial audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.
