As we continue to expand, we are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Management Accountant to join our finance team. This role will play a key part in providing accurate financial reporting, supporting strategic decision-making, and driving continuous improvement across the business.

 

The Role

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Management Accountant will be responsible for delivering timely and accurate management accounts, financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and business partnering support across the organisation. The successful candidate will work closely with operational and senior management teams to provide meaningful financial insights that support business growth and profitability.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Support project and contract profitability analysis across engineering and manufacturing operations.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and maintenance of financial controls.
  • Bank Reconciliations
  • Support preparation of statutory accounts and audit requirements.
  • Preparation and submission of VAT, Intrastat, VIES, and other regulatory returns.
  • Management of foreign VAT compliance and reporting requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Analysis and reporting of transactions across multiple currencies, including foreign exchange impacts.
  • Work closely with Accounts Payable, Commercial, Procurement, and Operations teams to improve financial performance.
  • Support the development and enhancement of financial systems, processes, and reporting tools.
  • Assist with business case preparation, capital expenditure analysis, and strategic projects.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and internal controls.

 

Candidate Requirements

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent).
  • Minimum 3–5 years' experience in a Management Accountant or similar finance role.
  • Experience within engineering, manufacturing, construction, or project-based environments is advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of management accounting principles, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Experience working with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
  • Knowledge of foreign VAT regulations and multi-currency accounting would be highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across departments.
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
