The Opportunity
We are partnering with a fast-growing SaaS business that has recently completed a strategic acquisition and is now seeking a talented Management Accountant to take ownership of the finance function for the newly acquired entity.
This is a unique opportunity to join a high-growth technology business and play a key role in integrating, managing and optimising the financial performance of a standalone SaaS operation. Reporting into senior finance leadership, you will be the go-to finance professional for the acquired business, responsible for delivering accurate financial reporting, insightful analysis and driving operational improvements.
We're looking for someone who combines strong technical accounting expertise with a commercial mindset and a solid understanding of SaaS business models and metrics.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the month-end management accounts process for the acquired business.
- Prepare monthly P&L, balance sheet and cash flow reporting.
- Deliver meaningful variance analysis and commentary for senior stakeholders.
- Manage accruals, prepayments, reconciliations and journal postings.
- Support budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning processes.
- Produce KPI reporting and provide commercial insights to support decision making.
- Partner with operational leaders across the business to improve financial performance.
- Monitor revenue performance and subscription-based income streams.
- Support acquisition integration activities, including process improvement and financial controls.
- Assist with year-end audit requirements and statutory reporting.
- Develop and improve management information and reporting packs.
SaaS Metrics & Commercial Reporting
A key part of this role will be understanding and reporting on core SaaS performance indicators, including:
- Monthly Recurring Revenue (MRR)
- Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR)
- Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC)
- Customer Lifetime Value (LTV)
- Gross Revenue Retention (GRR)
- Net Revenue Retention (NRR)
- Churn Analysis
- Customer Cohort Performance
- Subscription Revenue Trends
- SaaS Gross Margin Analysis
About You
- Qualified or Part-Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
- Previous experience in a Management Accountant or Finance Business Partner role.
- Experience working within a SaaS, subscription-based or technology business.
- Strong understanding of recurring revenue models and SaaS KPIs.
- Excellent analytical and financial modelling skills.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience working with ERP/accounting systems.
- Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of a business unit.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Commercially minded with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
