We are seeking a commercially minded Management Accountant to join a growing Finance team within a multi-entity, contract-led services business.
You will play a key role in delivering accurate, timely month-end reporting, maintaining strong financial control, and providing meaningful analysis to support operational and commercial decision-making. The role combines technical accounting with business partnering across a fast-paced, multi-site environment.
This is well suited to someone who enjoys working in a B2B services environment, where operational performance, contract activity, and cost control directly drive financial results.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly management accounts for assigned entities/business areas
- Own month-end processes including journals, accruals, prepayments and supporting schedules
- Deliver P&L and balance sheet analysis with clear variance commentary
- Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts, resolving issues promptly
- Analyse revenue and cost performance across contracts, highlighting risks and opportunities
- Support revenue recognition and accrued income processes, working closely with operational and billing teams
- Review contract/customer profitability and key performance movements
- Support management reporting packs and monthly commentary
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting and reforecasting cycles
- Ensure accuracy and consistency of cost allocations and postings
- Support audit preparation and year-end reporting
- Contribute to process improvement and month-end efficiency initiatives
- Provide ad hoc analysis to the wider finance team
About You
- Qualified Accountant (ACCA/ACA OR CIMA)
- Strong month-end accounting skills (journals, accruals, prepayments, reconciliations)
- Experience preparing management accounts and analysing performance
- Strong understanding of P&L and balance sheet control
- Strong analytical and Excel skills
- High attention to detail with a control-focused mindset
- Confident communicator with both finance and operational stakeholders
Salary
c£55,000 basic plus full benefits package, Hybrid working (4 days office based in Milton Keynes)
