Opportunity
A leading independent energy infrastructure developer and investor is seeking a Finance Manager to join its Renewable Energy M&A team. This is a high-impact role supporting acquisitions, strategic investments, and portfolio transactions across utility-scale renewable energy assets, including solar, battery energy storage, and other energy transition technologies.
This position offers the opportunity to work on complex transactions from initial evaluation through closing and integration, partnering closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain sophisticated financial models for utility-scale renewable energy assets and portfolios.
- Evaluate acquisition opportunities through detailed valuation, return analysis, sensitivity modeling, and scenario analysis.
- Analyze project economics, capital structures, financing alternatives, debt capacity, and risk-adjusted returns.
- Support all phases of the M&A transaction lifecycle, including financial analysis, due diligence, investment committee materials, transaction execution, and post-acquisition integration.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders including development, engineering, commercial, accounting, treasury, tax, legal, and executive leadership.
- Prepare investment memoranda, financial presentations, and executive-level decision materials.
- Conduct market research and develop financial assumptions supporting investment recommendations.
- Provide analytical support during negotiations by evaluating transaction structures, pricing scenarios, and commercial risks.
- Assist with transition planning following acquisitions, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and integration activities.
- Manage multiple concurrent transactions while maintaining high analytical accuracy and attention to detail.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, Accounting, or a related discipline.
- 3–6 years of experience in renewable energy finance, project finance, investment banking, infrastructure investing, private equity, corporate development, or mergers and acquisitions.
- Strong financial modeling skills with the ability to build and audit complex Excel models from the ground up.
- Experience evaluating capital-intensive infrastructure or energy investments is strongly preferred.
- Understanding of project valuation methodologies, discounted cash flow analysis, capital markets, and investment metrics such as IRR, NPV, and cash-on-cash returns.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and quantitative skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex financial analyses to senior leadership.
- Highly organized with the ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Advanced proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint.
