REITs Analyst – Global Long/Short Hedge Fund (NYC)
We are working with a $1bn+ AUM single‑manager long/short hedge fund to hire a dedicated REITs Analyst for their New York investment team.
The fund runs a global remit with meaningful exposure to listed real estate, investing across REITs and select real‑estate‑adjacent sectors. The investment approach is fundamental, long‑term, and quality‑focused, with less emphasis on momentum or high‑turnover trading.
This is a research‑only role, offering direct contribution to portfolio construction alongside a highly experienced PM.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct deep fundamental research across REITs and related real estate adjacencies
- Build and maintain detailed financial models, valuation frameworks, and investment theses
- Generate differentiated long and short ideas aligned with a longer‑term holding period
- Monitor existing positions and sector developments globally
- Partner closely with the PM on idea development and portfolio risk assessment
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Proven experience covering REITs and/or listed real estate (buyside experience required)
- Strong grounding in fundamental analysis and long‑term investing
- Comfortable covering opportunities on a global basis, but with a primary focus on the US
- Detail‑oriented, intellectually curious, and thesis‑driven
- Research‑focused mindset (this is not a trading seat)
Compensation & Structure
- Competitive base salary
- Bonus linked directly to overall fund performance
- 5 days per week in‑office (NYC)
