📊 We're hiring a Junior Finance Controller | Arolla · Lisboa / Setúbal · Full-Time
Arolla is a vertically integrated CLT manufacturing and construction company operating across Portugal. Finance sits at the centre of how we manage a multi-entity group — and we're looking for a Junior Finance Controller to grow into that complexity with us.
This is a hands-on role for someone early in their career who wants real exposure to month-end close, management reporting, and statutory compliance — not just one corner of it. You'll work directly alongside the Head of Finance & Procurement and build a broad foundation fast.
📋 What you'll do
▸ Month-end & year-end close — post journal entries, calculate accruals, and reconcile accounts across multiple group entities
▸ Financial statements — support preparation under SNC and, where applicable, IFRS
▸ Management reporting — contribute to monthly accounts and actuals vs. budget variance analysis
▸ Tax compliance — assist with VAT, IRC, and other Portuguese tax filings submitted to AT
▸ ERP & transaction processing — post and validate journal entries; assist with the implementation of new ERP
▸ Project and cost control
▸ Audit support — prepare schedules and documentation for internal and external audits
▸ Process improvement — spot opportunities to automate or streamline accounting workflows using Excel, Power Automate, or ERP tools
✅ What we're looking for
▸ Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics (Licenciatura or Mestrado)
▸ 0–3 years of experience in accounting or financial controlling — recent graduates with strong academic records are welcome
▸ Solid grounding in Portuguese accounting standards (SNC / NCRF); IFRS exposure is a plus
▸ Experience with or genuine interest in ERP systems
▸ Strong Excel skills
▸ Fluent in Portuguese; working-level English required
▸ Analytical, detail-oriented, and genuinely curious about process improvement and automation
