Exacore, LLC is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Controller to head the accounting team and department. This individual will oversee the financial operations of multiple entities operating in both the United States and Quebec. The Controller will be responsible for managing all accounting processes, risk management, financial statements, tax strategy, financial planning, reporting, budgeting, audit preparation, and external consultant coordination, while striving to maximize in-house capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage all accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, general ledger, and financial reporting.
  • Develop and implement effective tax strategies for operations in the U.S. and Quebec.
  • Lead the annual audit process, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP accounting standards.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and tax consultants, minimizing reliance on outside services where possible.
  • Create detailed financial models and forecasts to support the company’s financial planning and decision-making processes.
  • Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close processes.
  • Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard the company’s assets.
  • Lead the accounting team, fostering a culture of excellence, and ensuring high performance.
  • Report directly to the VP Finance and Accounting and collaborate with other department heads to drive financial and strategic initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA preferred; MBA or CMA is a plus.
  • 6-8 years of progressive accounting/finance experience, with a minimum of 3 years of that experience in a public accounting and audit firm and 3+ years industry experience in capital-intensive sectors like mining or data centers.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP accounting standards.
  • Experience managing multinational entities and navigating the complexities of international tax regulations.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks and experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems.
  • Proven experience in tax strategy, audit management, and financial planning.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage a team and coordinate across departments.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and with minimal oversight.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Location / Work Environment

  • This role is fully remote, but you’ll need to live in Florida, Missouri, Texas, Georgia, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Virginia, or Wisconsin.
