Merchant Bank of Sri Lanka & Finance PLC, a subsidiary of Bank of Ceylon, is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Investment Officer – Assistant Manager / Deputy Manager Grade.
This role is ideal for candidates with experience in investment management, capital markets, portfolio management, corporate advisory, financial analysis, and business development within a banking or financial services environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Handle the equity portfolio of MBSL, including trading and investment activities.
• Overlook MBSL Client Portfolio Management operations and maintain portfolios in a profitable manner.
• Conduct Investment Committee meetings.
• Update the MBSL portfolio and make timely buy and sell decisions.
• Prepare reports related to Corporate Advisory and Capital Market functions.
• Coordinate matters relating to the Integrated Risk Management Committee and portfolios maintained for MBSL and its client portfolios.
• Handle the yearly re-composition of the midcap index.
• Promote business related to Corporate Advisory and Capital Market functions and achieve business targets.
• Conduct business valuations and financial analysis.
Qualifications & Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university in Finance, Accountancy, Business Administration, Commerce, Economics, or a professional qualification in Finance / Capital Markets.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a reputed bank or financial institution in the relevant field.
OR
• Relevant recognized Diploma / G.C.E. A/L examination with 3 years’ experience in an executive capacity.
OR
• G.C.E. O/L examination with 5 years’ experience in an executive capacity.
