Position Summary:
The Inventory Control Coordinator is responsible for managing, tracking, and maintaining inventory of materials, tools, and equipment critical to BGC’s operations.
This role ensures that inventory levels are accurate, materials are readily available, and stock is managed efficiently to support engineering and field operations.
Essential Functions:
- Maintain accurate, real time inventory records for all materials, tools, equipment, and critical utility components across all BGC locations.
- Receive, inspect, verify, and record all incoming shipments, ensuring materials meet quality standards, specifications, and purchase order requirements.
- Issue materials, tools, equipment, and project allocated items to field teams and contractors with proper documentation, tracking, and accountability.
- Control and monitor all material movements within warehouses and laydown yards, ensuring no items are issued or removed without proper authorization.
- Conduct regular cycle counts, full inventory audits, reconciliations, and investigations of variances; implement corrective actions to strengthen internal controls.
- Ensure full traceability of materials from receipt through issuance and final use to support operational accountability and audit requirements.
- Monitor stock levels, usage trends, and reorder points; proactively coordinate replenishment to prevent shortages or excess inventory.
- Track and manage high-value, long lead, and critical infrastructure components essential for project execution and utility service continuity.
- Coordinate closely with Procurement, Engineering, Field Operations, Finance, and Project Teams to align inventory availability with operational and project needs.
- Stage and prepare materials in advance of scheduled field work, outages, and emergency response activities to support efficient execution.
- Maintain accurate system entries for all transactions, including receipts, issues, transfers, and adjustment, within BGC’s inventory management system (e.g., Meridian).
- Ensure proper storage, labeling, organization, and handling of materials following BGC safety, environmental, and operational standards.
- Support budgeting and cost control by reducing waste, minimizing excess inventory, and improving overall inventory turnover.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse and laydown yard environment in compliance with health and safety requirements.
- Prepare documentation and provide support during internal and external audits to ensure alignment between physical inventory, system records, and financial reporting.
- Contribute to the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of inventory control SOPs, systems, and warehouse processes across all BGC locations.
Other Requirements:
- May require occasional lifting and movement of inventory items.
- Have a valid driver’s license
Physical Demands:
- Regular standing, walking, and handling of materials.
- Ability to lift up to 25 – 40 lbs. as required.
Work Environment:
- Warehouse, storage facilities, and operational environments.
- Exposure to equipment, materials, and outdoor conditions.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or related field.
- 2 – 4 years of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or logistics.
- Experience with inventory management systems preferred.
