Position Overview:
East 57th Street Partners is seeking an experienced and results-driven Interim Chief Financial Officer (CFO) on behalf of our private equity-backed client in the manufacturing and distribution industry. This role is critical for providing strategic financial leadership and operational excellence during a period of transition. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of manufacturing and distribution operations, private equity environments, and a proven ability to drive financial stability, scalability, and growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Financial Leadership: Partner with the executive team to develop and execute financial strategies that align with the company’s operational and growth objectives.
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A): Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling processes to provide actionable insights and drive data-informed decision-making.
Operational Efficiency: Oversee cost optimization strategies, working capital management, and operational improvements to ensure profitability and sustainability.
Private Equity Collaboration: Serve as a key liaison with private equity stakeholders, providing transparent reporting and updates on financial performance, KPIs, and strategic initiatives.
Accounting Oversight: Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, compliance with GAAP, and readiness for audits or financial reviews.
Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A): Support due diligence, valuation analysis, and post-transaction integration activities as needed.
Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
Risk Management: Implement and maintain effective internal controls, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and safeguarding company assets.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA, CFA, or MBA is highly preferred.
Experience:
Minimum 10+ years of financial leadership experience, with prior roles as CFO or Interim CFO in the manufacturing or distribution industry.
Extensive experience working in private equity-backed environments, with a track record of navigating transitions, turnarounds, or high-growth scenarios.
Strong expertise in financial modeling, cost analysis, and operational efficiency strategies.
Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of manufacturing processes, supply chain dynamics, and distribution networks.
Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead diverse teams, influence key stakeholders, and drive organizational change.
Technical Expertise: Proficiency in financial systems, ERP platforms, and advanced Excel skills.
Communication Skills: Exceptional ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and effectively to both financial and non-financial audiences.
