As an Import Analyst with Giorgio Armani Corporation, you will play a key role in supporting the seamless movement of merchandise and materials across international markets. Working closely with cross-functional teams, including Logistics, Supply Chain, Finance, Distribution, and external partners, you will help ensure compliance with global trade regulations while maintaining efficient and timely import operations. Your ability to combine analytical expertise, attention to detail, and understanding of the luxury retail business will be essential in supporting business objectives and delivering an exceptional customer experience.
As an Import Analyst, you will be responsible for monitoring and coordinating import activities, ensuring compliance with customs regulations, and managing shipping documentation to facilitate the timely delivery of goods. You will analyze import data, track shipments, resolve transportation and customs issues, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to optimize processes and improve operational efficiency. This role requires strong organizational skills, a proactive mindset, and the ability to navigate a fast-paced environment while supporting the company’s supply chain and business goals.
Key Responsibilities
• Coordinate the end-to-end import process, from price negotiation to final delivery, including consumption and other supplier shipments.
• Act as the main point of contact with partner suppliers.
• Prepare and maintain department reports and tracking spreadsheets, including the import processes database (Masterfile).
• Review import expenses, seeking opportunities for cost efficiency.
• Ensure customs compliance, handling import and clearance documentation.
• Coordinate import funds with Finance and customs brokers.
• Support product registration in the system and provide import volumes for warehouse planning.
• Support the store team with import-related needs.
• Support the organization of internal logistics team events.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Foreign Trade, Business Administration, Logistics, Economics, or related fields.
• Proven prior experience in import, foreign trade, or international logistics.
• Solid knowledge of customs regulations, Incoterms, and clearance processes.
• Experience with ERP systems (knowledge of LINX or similar is a plus).
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, data analysis functions).
• Intermediate/advanced English, for communication with international suppliers and partners.
• Experience negotiating with suppliers and freight forwarders.
• Experience with logistics operator transition/implementation projects is a plus.
