A top tier financial services organisation is seeking an experienced Head of Strategy to join its strategy function.
This is a senior role top tier consultant looking to step into industry at a leadership level. The role sits at the centre of the organisation’s strategic agenda, partnering closely with senior executives to shape long-term strategy and drive enterprise-wide initiatives.
You will lead complex strategic problem-solving across the business — framing issues, structuring analysis and guiding teams to deliver clear, actionable recommendations that influence key decisions at the executive and board level.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy Leadership
- Lead the development of group-wide strategic initiatives aligned to the corporate plan
- Identify and assess key strategic opportunities through robust qualitative and quantitative analysis
- Frame and structure complex strategic problems using best-practice strategic frameworks
Enterprise Strategy Delivery
- Lead cross-functional strategic workstreams involving business leaders, SMEs and external advisors
- Develop clear strategic options, recommendations and implementation roadmaps
- Translate analysis into actionable insights to support executive decision-making
Stakeholder & Executive Engagement
- Present strategic recommendations to senior leadership and steering committees
- Facilitate workshops and working groups across the organisation
- Influence and guide senior stakeholders on strategic direction and priorities
Candidate Profile
- 6–12 years’ experience in strategy, ideally from top tier management consulting (MBB / LEK / Kearney / Oliver Wyman ) or a leading corporate strategy team.
- Likely operating at Engagement Manager, Senior Manager, Principal or equivalent level.
- Strong experience in structured problem solving, strategic frameworks and hypothesis-driven analysis.
- Advanced financial modelling, business case development and scenario analysis capabilities.
- Exposure to banking or financial services strategy highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
- Tertiary qualifications in commerce, economics, finance, statistics or a related discipline.
