Head of Finance Jobs in Madrid, Community of Madrid, Spain at Wyser
Title: Head of Finance
Company: Wyser
Location: Madrid, Community of Madrid, Spain
We are looking for a Head of Finance for a scale up finctech firm. Reporting directly to the CEO and founder your main responsibilities will be:
- Strategic Business Partnership: Actively participate in defining and executing the corporate strategy alongside the founders, turning financial insights into strategic growth levers.
- FP&A & Agile Forecasting: Lead all financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes. Build and stress-test agile models to aggressively optimize our cash runway, track burn rate, and simulate market expansion scenarios.
- Financial Governance & Reporting: Oversee all finance, accounting, management control, and tax functions. Ensure the absolute accuracy and compliance of our annual financial statements in accordance with international accounting standards.
- Regulatory & Compliance Shield: Safeguard our financial health against complex neobanking regulations. Act as the ultimate authority on regulatory capital minimums, ensuring our financial reporting is airtight for European financial authorities.
- Investor Relations & Stakeholder Management: Lead relationships with external auditors, financial advisors, and tax authorities.
- Unit Economics Optimization: Provide deep business analysis across all business lines to support decision-making, optimizing unit economics, margins, and transaction-level profitability.
Profile
- 6+ years of experience as a Finance Director, Head of Finance, or CFO within the financial services sector.
- Previous experience within a Big Four firm's Financial Institutions Group (FIG) is highly desirable, combined with hands-on experience in high-growth FinTechs, Neobanks, or financial institutions.
- University degree in Economics, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
- Excellent command of English (mandatory for our boardroom presentations, international partner management, and investor relations).
- Ability to operate effectively and lead teams in fast-paced, multicultural startup environments.
Skills & Competencies
- You have deep, institutional knowledge of financial systems, audits, and compliance structures. You know exactly what regulators and auditors look for before they even ask.
- You prefer a dynamic, predictive financial model to a boring, static slide deck. You understand startup growth metrics (MRR/ARR, Take Rate, LTV/CAC) just as well as you understand a balance sheet.
- You think in terms of capital efficiency and scale. You can spot financial or operational risks from miles away and mitigate them before they hit the P&L.
- You possess strong executive presence. You can translate complex tax structures or banking regulations into clear, actionable business logic for the board and the founder.
