Head of Finance – Premium Cosmeceutical Jobs in Victoria, Australia at Synergie Skin
Title: Head of Finance – Premium Cosmeceutical
Company: Synergie Skin
Location: Victoria, Australia
Springvale / Melbourne
Built on science. Scaled through discipline. Ready for the next phase.
Synergie Skin has spent over 20 years building one of Australia’s most clinically respected skincare brands.
We are vertically integrated and manufacture our products in our Melbourne headquarters.
We do not compete in mass retail. We partner with dermatologists, cosmetic physicians, registered nurses and skin clinicians who understand formulation integrity and long-term results.
Today, we operate across direct and professional channels, with a growing international footprint and a product portfolio grounded in evidence, efficacy and ethics.
As a result of our solid growth, we are now looking to appoint a Head of Finance to help shape our next phase of expansion and growth.
Why this role matters
We are at a stage where stronger financial discipline, clearer visibility of margin, and strategic commercial decision-making will directly impact accelerated growth.
This role exists to bring that strong financial expertise, clarity, structure and insight to the business.
The role
This is not a role for someone who wants to sit behind the numbers. It is for a finance leader who can bring structure, clarity and commercial discipline to an already successful and growing business, while still being hands-on enough to stay close to the detail.
You will own the financial engine end-to-end, and more importantly, you will help the business make better decisions by driving it.
Working closely with the leadership team, you will connect your financial insight to measurable and meaningful outcomes across product, sales and operations.
This role is available as a full-time position or 4 days per week for the right candidate.
You will:
- Lead the finance function across reporting, cashflow, forecasting and compliance
- Own product costing, pricing and margin across a manufacturing environment
- Bring visibility to product, sales channel and customer profitability
- Partner with Sales, Marketing and Operations to guide commercial decisions
- Drive budgeting, forecasting and scenario planning
- Ensure tax, audit and statutory obligations are met with rigour
- Strengthen current financial systems (NetSuite) and build a true single source of truth to capture meaningful and accurate data
- Lead and develop a small, capable finance team
- Support investment decisions, international expansion and strategic initiatives
What you bring:
- You are commercially minded first, technical by foundation.
- You have worked in a product or manufacturing business and understand what sits behind margin, not just how to report it.
- You are comfortable moving between detail and strategy
- You are confident partnering with senior stakeholders to collaborate, challenge thinking and improve outcomes
You likely have:
- CPA or CA qualification
- Strong experience across Australian tax and accounting standards
- A background in costing, inventory and operational finance
- ERP experience (NetSuite or similar)
- A hands-on approach and a bias for action
What you’ll find here:
- A brand with palpable culture, genuine credibility and strong foundations
- A founder deeply invested in integrity, customer satisfaction and long-term growth
- A collaborative leadership team that values clarity, collaboration, ownership and action
- Real influence over business direction and decision-making
- The opportunity to build and shape a best-in-class finance function
If you are motivated by truly building something, not just maintaining it, we would love to explore this opportunity with you
