SUMMARY:
A fast‑growing global renewable energy group is seeking a Head of Finance & Funding to join its senior leadership team. This is a newly created role offering the opportunity to take full ownership of funding strategy and financial operations within a high‑growth, project‑driven environment.
Based in Green Point, Cape Town, this is a permanent, fully office‑based role requiring a commercially focused finance leader with strong funding experience.
POSITION INFO:
Job Description:
Lead and execute the full funding lifecycle, including debt and equity raises
Manage relationships with banks, lenders, investors and funding partners
Oversee financial modelling, funding structures and investment analyses
Drive cash flow management and funding drawdown processes
Act as senior finance liaison for auditors, legal and tax advisors
Provide financial insight and reporting to executive leadership
Build and strengthen finance and funding processes as the business scales
Skills & Experience:
NON_NEGOTIABLES
Proven funding experience, with full knowledge of end‑to‑end funding processes
Demonstrated experience working directly with banks and lenders
Senior finance leadership background (title flexible)
Strong commercial judgement and decision‑making ability
Confident, decisive leader who is also a collaborative team player
Advanced excel skills
5–8 years’ experience in finance, ideally within:
Project finance
Investment or corporate finance
Experience supporting funding transactions.
Exposure to project-level financial modelling.
Qualification:
CA(SA) or equivalent professional accounting qualification preferred
Alternatively, a strong commercial finance background with demonstrable funding and capital‑raising experience
