Job Purpose
The Head of Finance is responsible for leading the full financial management function ensuring strong financial control, regulatory compliance, strategic financial planning, and sustainable profitability. The role drives financial performance, supports business expansion, and provides accurate insights for executive decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Strategy & Planning
- Develop and implement financial strategy aligned with company growth objectives
- Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning
- Support business expansion (new PoPs, infrastructure, licensing, acquisitions)
2. Financial Management & Reporting
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting
- Ensure timely and accurate financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
- Provide financial performance analysis and KPI dashboards to management
3. Cash Flow & Working Capital Management
- Manage cash flow forecasting and liquidity planning
- Optimize working capital, receivables, and payables cycles
- Ensure strong financial discipline in CAPEX and OPEX management
4. Cost Control & Profitability
- Monitor network, bandwidth, infrastructure, and operational costs
- Drive cost optimization initiatives across departments
- Analyze product/service profitability (internet plans, enterprise services, wholesale)
5. Tax, Compliance & Audit
- Ensure compliance with local tax regulations and telecom-specific financial requirements
- Coordinate internal and external audits
- Manage relationships with regulators, auditors, and financial institutions
6. CAPEX & Infrastructure Finance
- Evaluate ROI for network expansion, fiber rollout, data centers, and equipment investments
- Control CAPEX approval processes and financial justification
- Work closely with technical teams for project cost validation
7. Revenue Assurance
- Ensure accurate billing systems and revenue recognition
- Monitor leakage, fraud risks, and billing discrepancies
- Improve collection efficiency and AR management
8. Team Leadership
- Lead and develop finance team (accounting, treasury, billing, tax)
- Establish strong internal controls and financial governance
- Build high-performance finance culture
9. Business Support & Decision Making
- Provide financial insights to CEO and Board
- Support pricing strategy for ISP products and enterprise solutions
- Evaluate business cases and investment proposals
Key Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
- MBA / Professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, CFA) preferred
Experience
- 8–15 years in finance, with at least 3–5 years in senior finance leadership
- Strong experience in ISP / Telecom / Technology / Infrastructure sector preferred
- Proven experience in large-scale CAPEX and revenue-driven businesses
Skills
- Strong financial planning and analysis (FP&A)
- Telecom/ISP business model understanding (ARPU, bandwidth cost, churn, etc.)
- Advanced Excel / ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar)
- Leadership and stakeholder management
- Strong analytical and decision-making ability
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Revenue accuracy and growth contribution
- EBITDA margin improvement
- Cash flow stability and forecast accuracy
- CAPEX efficiency (ROI achievement)
- Reduction in operational costs
- Audit and compliance score (zero major issues)
