We need someone who speaks some Japanese and is willing to learn more or is already fluent. Relocation to Luxembourg needed.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic individual to join the Finance team as a Head of Finance. You will play a key role in ensuring the integrity, transparency, and efficiency of financial operations within a regulated environment.
Main goal: Lead and manage the European Finance function by building trust, motivating the team, meeting all deadlines, developing and enhancing processes and adding process efficiencies to support and control growing business activity. This is a unique opportunity to work for a fast-growth and revolutionary industry. A familiarity and genuine interest in cryptocurrency and blockchain technology is a big plus.
Responsibilities
* Lead the Finance team and ensure the team adopts continuous improvement.
* Financial accounting, including revenue accounting, accounts payable, month- and year-end closings, financial controls, and updating procedures.
* Cooperate with Operations and Compliance team to ensure controlled and effective client asset safeguarding and processing.
* Prepare, analyze, and control internal and external financial statements and results.
* Evaluate and implement systems to drive efficiency and automation in the company's financial operations.
* Work closely with auditors to complete audits in time.
* Financial Planning & Analysis, including budgeting and forecasting and explanations for variances to budget.
* Ensure compliance with regulations and best practices.
* Treasury Management.
* Bank account, cash management and reconciliation.
* Corporate tax (direct and indirect)
* Cooperate with overseas offices in all finance related matters at global scale, with the purpose of ensuring transparency and alignment in all related aspects.
* Participate in internal and global projects, to ensure good coordination of processes and work across whole group.
* Assist in the timely filing of regulatory reports, including to the CSSF as necessary.
* Ensure timely escalation all relevant matters and reports to the management, Board of Directors, and Group Head
Requirements
* Certain level of Japanese.
* At least five years of proven experience and increasing responsibility in accounting/finance, preferably in regulated Financial Services companies (e.g. payment institutions, banks).
* Good understanding of multicultural working environments.
* Proficient in MS Excel.
* Hands-on experience of accounting processes from journal entry to reporting.
* Experience of handling accounting software.
* Experience of month-end and year-end closing processes.
* Good knowledge of Luxembourg GAAP (IFRS and US GAAP are also very useful).
* Proven experience in the financial sector desirable.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Extremely result driven and hardworking.
