Role Overview
The Head of Finance is a senior leadership role within a market‑leading integrated food services and facilities management organization.
The role has full accountability for financial leadership, commercial finance, FP&A, internal control, and governance, with an expanding remit to cover commercial and bid finance oversight. This position plays a critical role in ensuring financial soundness, contract profitability, and competitive win‑rates across multi‑contract, services‑led client environments.
Key Responsibilities
Finance Leadership & CFO Succession
- Partner closely with the CFO to execute a structured and accelerated succession plan.
- Assume enterprise‑wide finance leadership responsibilities, including financial strategy, performance management, and executive decision support.
- Engage with regional and global finance stakeholders as part of a future‑ready leadership structure.
Commercial Finance & Bid Governance
- Own financial review and approval of all tender, bid, and commercial proposals prior to submission.
- Partner with commercial leadership to ensure pricing accuracy, margin sustainability, and P&L viability in highly competitive bid environments.
- Assess winnability against market competition while maintaining cost discipline and financial governance.
- Act as a critical finance sign‑off authority for solutions sold to clients.
P&L Ownership & Financial Modeling
- Lead and govern complex contract‑based P&L structures, including:
- Multiple contracts under a single master service agreement
- Distinct execution models with separate P&Ls and cost profiles
- Oversee service models where all operational costs are billed to clients plus a management fee.
- Ensure strong FP&A integration across budgeting, forecasting, margin analysis, and variance management.
- Interpret commercial and client contracts within a financial, operational, and risk framework.
Financial Control, Compliance & Risk
- Take full ownership of internal controls, compliance, audit, and governance.
- Ensure adherence to group standards, regulatory requirements, and best‑practice financial controls.
- Strengthen financial rigor across both food services P&L (e.g., raw materials, labor, wastage) and facilities management P&L structures.
Stakeholder & Executive Engagement
- Act as a trusted finance advisor to executive leadership on financial performance, risk, and strategic decisions.
- Participate in executive and board‑level reviews, presenting clear and commercially grounded financial insights.
- Lead, structure, and develop a multi‑layered finance organization aligned to future growth and scale.
Qualifications:
- Senior finance leader with experience in services‑based, contract‑driven, or multi‑P&L environments.
- Strong background in commercial finance, FP&A, and contract interpretation.
- Proven capability to assess bid viability, pricing models, and long‑term profitability.
- Comfortable operating in complex, evolving, and matrixed organizations.
- Exposure to food services, facilities management, infrastructure, or regulated industries is highly advantageous.
