Head Of Finance opportunity, managing a team of five staff, for a reputable farming business.
Located in Central Bedfordshire, the company operates on an 18-acre site equipped with significant cold storage, production and loading bay facilities. This is a significant role for the business and will lead to a FD position in the next 18-24 months due to a retirement.
Role Description
The Head of Finance will oversee the preparation and management of financial statements, lead financial reporting, and ensure accurate budgeting. Responsibilities will include conducting financial analysis, supporting strategic decision-making, and providing expertise in finance‑related matters to drive the company towards its goals.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in preparing and analyzing financial statements and reports
- Strong analytical skills and experience in financial analysis and planning
- Knowledge and experience in corporate finance and budgeting processes
- Ability to interpret and present financial data to guide business strategy
- Experience in managing finance operations and ensuring compliance
- Proficiency in financial software and tools
- A professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CIMA) or similar is essential
- Proven leadership and team management experience
Ideally I’m looking for a strong academic background and at least 5-10 years’ experience post qualification, part of that experience should include manufacturing experience, does not have to be food but must understand the manufacturing discipline. You must have excellent people management experience and demonstrate developing a team. Budget and forecasting skills is a must as will be direct experience of external auditing.
