Role Description

The Head of Delivery owns the end-to-end oversight of execution of our client work. You sit between the founders and the delivery team (CFOs, controllers, accountants, and tax specialists), ensuring that:

• Quality Control is being met

• Anticipate client needs

• Streamline monthly delivery, systems and processes.

• Internal delivery systems (closes, tax workflows, timesheets, invoicing) run smoothly

This is not a back-office ops role.

It’s a client-facing delivery leadership role for someone who understands accounting workflows, project management and enjoys owning operational execution.

Qualifications

  • Proven expertise in Project Management or Operations Management, with a focus on optimizing workflows and improving efficiency in finance
  • Strong US GAAP accounting skills
  • Strong Analytical Skills to evaluate processes, data trends, and performance metrics
  • Team Management abilities, including mentoring, leadership, and fostering a collaborative work environment
  • Excellent Communication skills to effectively engage with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders
  • Proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and Budgeting for strategic decision-making
  • Highly organized, self-driven, and able to thrive in a remote working environment
  • Experience in the financial consulting sector or a similar field is an advantage
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or relevant field; advanced degrees like an MBA are a plus

Key Responsibitlies

Client Delivery & Project Management

• Monthly closes (target: 10 business days)

• Ongoing accounting and controller work

• Fractional CFO work and financial modeling

• Tax and compliance projects

• One-off cleanup and advisory projects

You will:

• Turn scopes and proposals into clear plans, owners, and timelines

• Ensure work is progressing and clients know where things stand

• Identify risks early (missing data, deadlines, resource conflicts) and resolve them before they become client issues

Quality Control

Serve as the first line of defense to ensure delivery for

• deadlines

• Tax management

• Timesheet and invoicing needs

• Client requests

Team Coordination

Coordinate work across accountants, controllers, CFOs, and tax managers.

Responsibilities include:

• Monitoring timesheets and billing categories

• Tracking delivery progress across clients

• Ensuring work is properly documented and billed

• Reducing unnecessary internal meetings that inflate client invoices

You’ll maintain visibility across tools such as:

• Google Sheets / Airtable

• QuickBooks timesheets

• Bill.com

• Google Drive / Docs

And ensure the team communicates clearly and efficiently with clients.

Processes & Systems

Start with existing tools and workflows and improve them incrementally.

Examples include:

• Improving trackers, templates, and naming conventions

• Defining clear escalation rules

• Clarifying expectations for “ready for tax” and close completion

Over time you may help evaluate more robust practice management or accounting operations tools as the firm scales.

Who you are

• 5–10+ years in client delivery, engagement management, or project management

• Experience in US GAAP accounting, finance services, or consulting environments

• Strong understanding of accounting workflows such as:

  • Monthly closes
  • Reconciliations
  • Financial reporting
  • Tax documentation
  • Services billing

• Proven ability to manage multiple clients and projects simultaneously

• Comfortable operating in lean, fast-growing environments
