Group Finance & Tax Manager
The Opportunity
We are partnering with a dynamic, privately owned international Agri and food trading group with a significant operational footprint. Due to continued growth, the business is seeking a Group Finance & Tax Manager to join its finance leadership team based in Brisbane.
Working closely with a highly experienced global CFO and an entrepreneurial CEO, this role offers the opportunity to strengthen group reporting, tax governance, and financial controls as the business transitions into a more structured and scalable operating environment.
Key Responsibilities
Oversight of the Group’s Australian entities, including international trading operations, joint ventures, family trusts and overseas holding structures.
Tax & Compliance
- Lead the transition from unaudited to audited financial statements
- Design and implement a practical group tax governance framework
- Oversee corporate tax planning, computations and lodgements (Corporate Tax, BAS, Payroll Tax)
- Manage tax compliance across international joint ventures
- Oversee ASIC compliance and corporate governance for Australian and overseas entities
- Monitor and manage group tax positions in partnership with external advisors
Financial Reporting & External Stakeholders
- Oversee preparation and review of statutory financial statements
- Act as key liaison with external auditors
- Manage reporting requirements for banks, insurers and other external stakeholders
- Ensure compliance across related entities and investments
- Oversee general and trade credit insurance programs
Systems & Process Improvement
- Drive improvements in financial systems, controls and reporting processes
- Strengthen internal capability in tax, compliance and governance
- Support the development of scalable finance processes aligned with business growth
About You
- CA or CPA qualified with 5+ years’ experience
- Strong background in tax, financial reporting, audit and governance
- Experience within international or complex corporate structures
- Proven ability to implement controls and governance in growing, entrepreneurial environments
- Technically strong in corporate tax and experienced liaising with the ATO
- Hands-on, commercially aware and comfortable operating both strategically and operationally
- Self-driven, accountable and proactive in delivering outcomes
