The Opportunity

At a pivotal stage in its evolution, Commercial & General is seeking an exceptional Group Finance Manager to lead the finance function across our Group.

This newly created role is an opportunity to lead and strengthen the finance function as the Group continues to grow. Working closely with the Group’s CEO, Board and Investment Committees, you will combine commercial leadership with hands-on accountability for financial performance, operations and delivery. The role also calls for a leader with a strong curiosity for systems improvement, a focus on innovation and process optimisation, and the capability to help assess, adopt and implement emerging technologies, including AI, to improve reporting, insight, efficiency and control.

You will oversee accurate and timely financial reporting, statutory and tax compliance, payroll and payment governance, and complex investor, project and intercompany financial structures.

This role is pivotal in maintaining financial integrity and ensuring the Group’s financial systems and processes remain robust, compliant and scalable for the future.

Core Responsibilities

Financial Leadership, Planning & Performance

  • Lead the Group’s financial strategy, planning, forecasting and budgeting processes
  • Provide commercial insight and financial analysis to support executive decision-making and business performance
  • Deliver meaningful management and board reporting to support performance oversight
  • Monitor financial performance against business objectives and identify risks and opportunities

Financial Operations, Governance & Compliance

  • Oversee financial reporting across corporate entities and managed investment structures
  • Ensure compliance with statutory, taxation and regulatory obligations
  • Maintain strong financial controls, governance frameworks and payment oversight
  • Lead external audit processes and manage key advisor relationships
  • Oversee payroll governance, treasury operations and financial payments

Systems, Process Improvement & Controls

  • Strengthen and optimise finance systems, reporting capability and process automation
  • Ensure financial systems remain scalable to support continued business growth
  • Drive continuous improvement across reporting frameworks, reconciliations and controls

Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Lead and develop a high-performing finance team
  • Partner closely with executive leadership across Development, Construction and Investment
  • Prepare and present financial reporting and insights to the Board and Investment Committees
  • Foster a culture of accountability, commercial rigour and continuous improvement

What You Will Bring

Experience & Expertise

  • Significant senior finance leadership experience within a complex multi-entity environment
  • Experience within property development, construction, funds management, infrastructure or other asset-intensive sectors
  • Strong expertise in financial reporting, taxation, compliance and governance
  • Demonstrated success leading financial planning, reporting and business partnering functions
  • Advanced systems capability across ERP and financial reporting platforms
  • CPA or CA qualification preferred
