WatersEdge Solutions is partnering with a fast-scaling global HR tech business to recruit a detail-driven and highly analytical Group Accountant. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career CA(SA) who wants exposure to group reporting, consolidations, FP&A, and multi-entity global finance in a high-growth environment. The role is well suited to someone who combines strong technical accounting ability with commercial curiosity and a genuine appetite to grow in a fast-moving business.
About The Role
As Group Accountant, you’ll play a central role in the monthly group consolidation process, management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and board-level finance support. You’ll work closely with the Group Financial Manager and partner across multiple business functions to improve reporting quality, strengthen controls, and provide meaningful financial insights. This role is ideal for someone with strong IFRS knowledge, group consolidations exposure, and the ability to operate confidently in a global, multi-currency environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and manage the monthly group consolidation process, ensuring accurate and IFRS-compliant reporting
- Prepare and review monthly management accounts for group entities and consolidated groups
- Lead forecasting, budgeting, and long-range planning cycles with business stakeholders
- Analyse actual versus budget performance and provide actionable commercial insights
- Prepare board-level reporting packs, commentary, and variance analysis
- Monitor foreign exchange impacts, including revaluations, translation differences, and intercompany eliminations
- Maintain a strong financial control environment across the group
- Support audit processes and coordinate with external auditors
- Improve systems, reporting tools, and finance processes to enhance accuracy and efficiency
- Partner with teams across operations, HR, and sales to support broader finance needs
What You’ll Bring
- CA(SA) qualification
- 1–3 years post-articles experience
- Experience with group consolidations
- Strong IFRS knowledge, especially consolidation principles
- Exposure to foreign currency transactions and multi-entity environments
- Advanced Excel or Google Sheets capability with solid financial modelling fundamentals
- Strong analytical ability and attention to detail
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
- Strong communication skills and confidence engaging senior stakeholders
- Strong academic results, with full academic transcripts required
Nice to Have
- Experience with consolidation tools or ERP systems
- FP&A exposure including forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis
- Exposure to data tools such as Looker, Power BI, or SQL
- Experience in a global, tech-enabled, or high-growth business
