Role Description
We are currently seeking a motivated Graduate or Junior Tax Accountant to join our collaborative team.
This is an excellent opportunity to build your technical skills and gain hands-on experience in a supportive environment, working closely with senior team members and partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements in line with relevant accounting standards
- Prepare income tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts, and SMSFs
- Assist with BAS, IAS, and other compliance lodgements
- Liaise with the ATO and other regulatory bodies as required
- Conduct research on tax and accounting matters with guidance from senior staff
- Support the preparation of cash flow forecasts, budgets, and other reports
- Identify potential issues and escalate to senior team members
- Ensure compliance with tax legislation and key deadlines
- Maintain accurate client records and documentation
- Work collaboratively with the team to deliver quality outcomes for clients
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
- Currently undertaking or intending to commence CA/CPA
- 0–2 years’ experience in a public practice environment (desirable but not essential)
- Basic understanding of Australian taxation and compliance requirements
- Experience with Xero, CAS 360, Active Workpapers, or similar software (preferred)
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- A positive attitude and team-oriented approach
