Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and commercially astute General Manager to lead our European Headquarters in the Netherlands, serving as both the regional site leader and a strategic partner to the Genesis European commercial organization. This role is responsible for building and leading a high-performing regional support platform, ensuring corporate functions effectively enable business growth, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence across Europe. The General Manager will act as the key interface between headquarters and regional commercial teams, ensuring alignment in strategy, governance, and execution.

Key Responsibilities

1. Regional Leadership & Governance

  • Serve as the site leader for the European HQ, overseeing all corporate and support functions
  • Act as a strategic partner to regional commercial leaders, enabling market expansion and operational execution
  • Establish robust governance, compliance, and control frameworks aligned with global standards and European regulatory requirements
  • Represent the company externally with regulators, partners, and government bodies

2. Functional Leadership & Regional Operations Setup

Lead and integrate the following core functions:

Finance

  • Oversee financial planning & analysis (FP&A), budgeting, and performance tracking
  • Ensure local statutory compliance, tax, and audit requirements are met
  • Provide financial insights to support commercial decision-making and investments

Human Resources

  • Drive talent acquisition, workforce planning, and organizational design
  • Manage performance management, compensation, and employee engagement initiatives
  • Ensure alignment with global HR policies and local labour regulations

Quality Assurance (QA) & Regulatory Affairs (RA)

  • Ensure full compliance with EU MDR and applicable regulatory frameworks
  • Oversee quality systems, audits, and certifications
  • Support product registrations and market access across Europe

Government Affairs / Market Access

  • Engage with regulatory authorities and policymakers
  • Support reimbursement strategies and public sector engagement
  • Monitor and assess policy developments impacting the business

Administration & Corporate Services

  • Oversee office operations, facilities, and vendor management
  • Support business continuity and operational infrastructure readiness

Legal & Compliance

  • Manage contracts, corporate governance, and risk mitigation
  • Oversee external legal counsel and regulatory risk management

Supply Chain & Logistics Coordination

  • Align regional distribution with global supply chain strategy
  • Oversee inventory planning, import/export compliance, and logistics optimization

IT / Digital Infrastructure

  • Ensure robust IT systems, cybersecurity, and data governance
  • Support digital transformation initiatives across the region

3. Strategic Execution & Business Enablement

  • Drive operational readiness for market entry and expansion across Europe
  • Align regional execution with global priorities and transformation initiatives
  • Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency, scalability, and cost structure
  • Support M&A integration and partnership development, where applicable

4. Team Leadership & Capability Building

  • Build and lead a high-performing, cross-functional leadership team
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and execution excellence

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • 15+ years of leadership experience, ideally within MedTech, healthcare, or other regulated industries
  • Proven track record in managing multi-functional teams (e.g., Finance, HR, QA/RA)
  • Strong understanding of the European regulatory and business environment
  • Demonstrated experience in building or scaling regional operations or headquarters
  • Experience working within a matrixed, multinational organization
