This year, we launched our new Financial Shared Service Center in Budapest, which will deliver a wide range of financial services to our companies across Europe. We are now offering an exciting opportunity to join our growing General Ledger team as a:

General Ledger Accountant

with Polish language knowledge

Responsibilities

  • Support the transition of General Ledger accounting processes from the Polish entity to Hungary, including training, SOP creation, and process flow documentation.
  • Perform month-end closing activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Ensure compliance with internal closing schedules and regulatory deadlines.
  • Manage fixed asset accounting, IFRS 16, accruals, VAT reporting, foreign exchange journals, and ad hoc reporting.
  • Proactively manage stakeholder relationships and escalate risks or delays in a timely manner.
  • Identify and mitigate risks during the transition phase.
  • Train and support new team members within the General Ledger team.
  • Participate in and lead assigned projects, including process optimization and best practice implementation.
  • Ensure adherence to agreed service levels, policies, and procedures.
  • Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to build strong professional relationships.
  • Support management in shaping the General Ledger accounting strategy and contribute to strategic initiatives.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of experience in a General Ledger accounting role.
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end General Ledger processes.
  • Professional accounting qualification.
  • University degree or equivalent, preferably in accounting or business administration.
  • Professional working proficiency in English and Polish.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office or equivalent tools.
  • Experience with SAP FI is an advantage.
  • Experience in process automation is a plus.
  • Motivation to contribute to the setup and development of a new Shared Service Center.
  • Proactive, self-driven attitude with the ability to work independently.
  • Strong team player with the ability to support and motivate others.
  • High attention to detail and strong prioritization skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong customer-oriented mindset.
  • Willingness to travel when required.
