HAWAII HOUSING FINANCE AND DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION (HHFDC, Honolulu Hawaii)
The Hawaii Housing Finance and Development Corporation (HHFDC) is responsible for the financing and development of affordable housing in the State of Hawaii pursuant to Chapter 201H, Hawaii Revised Statutes. The HHFDC is administratively attached to the Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism (DBEDT), State of Hawaii.
The Finance Branch provides the overall administration of the various housing financing programs of the HHFDC including the issuance of tax exempt and taxable bonds to finance mortgages and the construction and/or acquisition of rental housing projects.
The Rental Financing Unit provides assistance to individuals and families in obtaining affordable homes through the administration of various programs that provide funding for development/rehabilitation of rental/for sale housing projects, first-time homebuyer programs, and rental assistant programs.
The primary purpose of this position is to assist in the day to day activities necessary to administer the various programs.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge: Knowledge of the State and Federal tax laws relating to single family bond financing and program administration; and federal rules and regulations relative to federally funding programs.
Skills/Abilities: Ability to review and analyze program data and derive sound conclusions; interpret and apply State and Federal laws and regulations; give and receive oral and written instruction.
Education: A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in accounting, finance, economics or real estate.
Experience: One (1) year of experience in real estate/finance.
Substitutions Allowed: The requirements in Education and Experience stated above may be substituted with a high school diploma or GED and six (6) years of work experience performing technical analysis or activities in the field of real estate finance or development.
