Onni Group is seeking a highly detail-oriented and technically strong Financial Reporting Accountant to join our global finance team. This role is critical to delivering high-quality financial reporting and audit-ready documentation, operating in a structure similar to a professional services environment.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in year-end file preparation, audit support, and financial statement reporting, along with a strong understanding of accounting standards and internal controls. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership and contribute to the continuous improvement of reporting processes across a global organization.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Year-End Preparation
- Lead the preparation of comprehensive year-end work papers and financial files, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Generate and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and supporting schedules.
- Maintain clear, structured, and audit-ready documentation aligned with internal and external standards.
Audit Support & Compliance
- Act as a key point of contact for audit preparation, ensuring all required reconciliations and supporting documents are available.
- Support internal and external audit processes by responding to queries and providing accurate documentation.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and internal control frameworks.
Process Improvement & Collaboration
- Collaborate with the VP of Financial Reporting and Assurance to enhance reporting processes and documentation quality.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and standardization across financial reporting workflows.
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on reporting timelines and deliverables.
Qualifications
- CA / CPA / CMA certification is mandatory
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in financial reporting, accounting, or audit, preferably within a public accounting or corporate reporting environment.
- Strong experience in year-end file preparation and audit support.
- Solid understanding of financial statements, reconciliations, and reporting processes.
- Working knowledge of US GAAP and/or Canadian GAAP is a strong asset.
- General understanding of corporate tax concepts is beneficial.
- Exceptional attention to detail with strong documentation and analytical skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across global teams.
