On behalf of our client, EKO Hellenic Petroleum, we invite motivated and proactive candidates to apply for the position of Financial Planning and Analysis Analyst on a fixed-term basis for approximately 18 months, covering a maternity leave period. This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience and contribute to a dynamic and international business environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing the company's financial performance, market developments, and business trends. The role includes monitoring variances between actual results, budgets, and forecasts across business lines, providing insightful explanations to management, and contributing to the company's strategic planning and decision-making processes.
Main responsibilities:
- Analyse financial data and maintain/improve existing financial models to report, forecast and evaluate financial performance of the company as well as evaluate individual investment projects
- Report on financial performance of the company and prepare presentations to the Management
- Perform variance analysis of revenue, costs, profitability and capex of the company vs. budget and forecast
- Work closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting
- Being one of the key coordinators in the preparation of the 5-year strategic plan as well its monitoring
- Provide analysis of trends and forecasts and recommend actions for optimization
- Recommend actions by analysing and interpreting data and making comparative analyses; study proposed changes in methods and materials
- Identify and drive process improvements, including the creation of standard and ad-hoc reports, tools, and excel dashboards
- Perform analysis of operating expenses and making recommendations to the CFO for targeted cost efficiency actions
Candidate profile:
- University Degree in Finance, Accounting or Mathematics
- Excellent level of written and spoken English
- Full or partial professional qualification in Managerial Accounting/Accounting (CIMA or ACCA) would be considered a plus
- 1 – 2 years of working experience in upward finance roles requiring business and commercial acumen
- Knowledge of SAP or other ERP systems would be considered an advantage
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills, especially with Excel and PowerPoint
- Technical knowledge and very good understanding of financial figures, data analysis and mathematical models
- Team player; ability to work in a cross functional team
