As a Financial Planner in the Scotia Financial Planning team (formerly Investment Specialist) within Global Asset Management, you will develop client relationships and provide high‑quality investment and financial planning advice in the mass affluent market.
You will drive investment sales and new client acquisition, adhering to Global Sales Principles and regulatory requirements, while building opportunities within the assigned market area.
Responsibilities
- Business Development:
Execute business development plans for prospects and existing clients, identify opportunities and facilitate investment solutions or referrals. - Client‑Centric:
Provide client‑centric investment solutions, conduct outbound communications, and conduct needs analysis across financial statements. - Community Involvement:
Participate in local professional and community events, deliver financial seminars, network with industry specialists, and manage a small marketing budget.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in financial planning and investment sales.
- Current mutual‑fund certification and meet MFDA licensing requirements.
- Completed a Personal Financial Planning (PFP) or Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation.
- Proven networking and client acquisition skills with Centres of Influence (COI).
- Self‑motivated, goal‑oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
- Comprehensive knowledge of competitive offerings, market trends, economic conditions, and regulatory environment.
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle for client visits.
