First Health Care of Puerto Rico has an opening for a CFO that will:
1. Prepares monthly financial statements, financial packages, Full Time Employee Equivalence (FTE) and other informational reports/analyses. Through account analysis, variance analysis, journal entries, and internal controls, prepares detailed financial statements to accurately reflect the monthly operating results.
2. Closely oversees business office functions to ensure cash collection goals are met, and net revenue is properly stated. Facilitates weekly A/R meeting with CEO and Business Office Manager to communicate results and monitor areas of weakness.
3. Assists in negotiation of contract terms with insurance companies, the government and employers. Prepare pro-forma analysis of current and prospect contracts to determine estimated outcomes and profitability. Monitors and evaluates success/failure of the contracted rates considering utilization trends.
4. Provides financial analysis to determine provider reimbursement rates.
5. Develop policies and procedures. Develops and monitors policies and procedures within generally accepted accounting principles and corporate guidelines to ensure sufficient cash flow, reduces company operating costs, and increased revenues.
6. Provides reconciliations, account analyses, and other information for Actuarial analysis, Tax Department, Auditors, etc., to aid in preparation of statutory reports.
7. Prepares annual budget in conjunction with UHS standards. In cooperation with management and department heads, reviews prior financial results and discusses anticipated changes to highlight future needs and trends of the company.
8. Participation in strategic planning processes.
9. Maintain excellent interdependence with clinical and operational departments to provide accuracy of cost trending reports.
10. Maintain excellent interdependence with CEO and COO to align financial trends with pricing activities.
11. Lead Cost trends committees.
12. Is responsible for accurate and timely provider/vendor payments.
13. Conduct cost control initiatives.
14. Comply with required organizational annual training.
15. Initiative job requires willingness to take all responsibilities and challenges.
14. Performs other duties as assigned/required.
15. Exemplifies the standards of service excellence program.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a financial leadership role in a healthcare setting.
Minimum education requirement of a bachelor’s degree. Master’s degree preferred
Must possess a working knowledge of hospital financial operations, federal and local tax regulations; knowledge of all business office, accounting, payroll and other administrative office operations including all processes from registration through discharge.
Must be skilled at interpreting financial analysis and performance information; preparing schedules and reports, using source data and compiling reports from others’ schedules; using electronic spreadsheets and ability to manipulate data within proprietary and acquired databases.
