About Winvesta
Winvesta is an AI-native fintech on a mission to make cross-border payments and international investing seamless and affordable for Indians. We build two live products: a Global Currency Account for Indian exporters receiving payments from foreign clients, and an international investing platform for Indian retail investors. Founded by Swastik Nigam (IIM-A, ex-Deutsche Bank London), Winvesta has been recognised as Fintech Product of the Year 2024, Best Payment Solution 2023, Best Emerging Fintech 2023, and FinTech Company of the Year 2020 for Asia Pacific.
The Reality of the Market
Finance and operations roles are changing in ways that most finance programmes have not yet acknowledged. The work that used to require a team — reconciliation, exception analysis, process documentation, variance reporting — is being compressed by AI tools that can do the routine parts in minutes. What that leaves is the judgment layer: the person who knows what the numbers should say, who catches the thing that looks fine but is not, who understands the downstream consequence of an error that others would have filed and moved on from.
That judgment layer is not being automated. It is becoming more valuable, because the teams around it are getting smaller and the tools around it are getting faster. The question for anyone entering this space is: are you building toward that layer, or are you building toward the parts that are being compressed?
What Winvesta Offers
At Winvesta, the operational layer is not back-office support. It is the product. A reconciliation that is off is a client problem. A process that breaks under volume is a product failure. You will be working in the part of the business where accuracy has real, immediate consequences.
You will work in live financial operations on real transactions — not case studies, not simulated data.
You will use Claude as a daily work partner — to draft process documentation, structure exception analyses, produce reconciliation summaries, and surface patterns in data. You will also be expected to verify everything it produces, because Claude can be confidently wrong about numbers, regulatory specifics, and the implications of particular exceptions.
You will develop the combination that matters: operational precision and AI-native judgment, in a regulated fintech environment, while you are still early in your career.
The last month of your internship is an explicit adjudication period for a full-time offer. Both sides know this from Day 1.
What You Get
- Competitive stipend, disclosed at offer stage
- Direct daily access to the founding team — not a manager two levels removed
- Real financial operations work on live transactions from week one, not simulated exercises
- Structured Claude onboarding in your first week, with AI-native skill development throughout
- Formal full-time assessment in the final month, with a clear and honest outcome either way
The Attitude We Need
We look for academic strength first — ideally 90% or above in both 10th and 12th. For FinOps specifically, we weight this heavily because the role is fundamentally numerical and logical. The person who does it well is someone who has always been comfortable with numbers: not just accurate in calm conditions, but able to hold a complex reconciliation in their head, trace a discrepancy back through multiple steps, and identify where the logic broke.
We also look for strong mathematical and logical reasoning — the underlying capacity to think about numbers structurally. To look at a set of transaction data and ask: what should this add up to, what does this variance imply, what is the chain of events that produced this discrepancy?
What we do not specify is a particular degree stream. The stream matters less than the numerical instinct and the rigour. What is non-negotiable is a genuine affinity for technology and an AI-native way of working. You use tools to solve problems. You figure out new software without being trained on it. You have been using Claude as part of your actual daily work, not as something you tried once.
We will ask you in the application to describe an error you found that others missed — a specific example, with consequences. If you cannot think of one, that is worth reflecting on.
If you are the right person for this role, the bar we have described will feel like a reasonable expectation, not an obstacle.
The Role
FinOps at Winvesta is not a back-office function. It is the infrastructure that keeps the company running across multiple products, geographies, and regulatory environments. The role spans four areas.
Client onboarding and KYC — managing the onboarding process for new clients, ensuring KYC requirements are met accurately and efficiently, and working to make that experience faster and less painful over time. Every friction point in onboarding is a leakage point in growth, and the person in this role is responsible for finding and removing them.
Building automations — identifying repetitive operational tasks and building systems to handle them using Claude and AI tooling. This is not a job for someone who accepts manual work as a given. Every time a new type of issue or query comes through, the question is: how do we catch this automatically next time? The goal is an operations function that gets more robust with every problem it encounters, not one that adds headcount every time volume grows.
Working with product and partners — collaborating with the product team and our regulated partners in India and internationally to make operations more reliable at every layer. When something breaks or creates friction, this role is in the room where it gets fixed — not waiting to be told what changed.
Financial operations and compliance support — overseeing the financial operations of the company and the group, and supporting our accountants across geographies, external auditors, and regulatory compliance partners with whatever they need to do their work accurately and on time. This includes reconciliations, transaction monitoring, exception handling, and producing the documentation and reports that our partners and regulators require.
The specific work will evolve continuously as the business grows. The requirement for precision, proactivity, and the instinct to automate will not.
Proof of Work
We are not looking for a polished CV. We are looking for evidence of things you have actually done with numbers and processes.
If you have produced a reconciliation, a financial report, or a variance analysis — even in an internship or a college project — tell us what it was, what decision it informed, and what you found in it. If you have used Claude to structure a financial output or draft process documentation, show us what you built. If you have caught an error that mattered — in any context, professional or academic — tell us that story specifically.
Proof of work does not have to be from a formal role. It has to be real, and you have to be able to tell us what happened because of it.
Qualifications
What we require:
- Based in Mumbai, able to commute to BKC daily — this is a fully in-office role
- Active Claude user — must have used it to produce real work outputs before applying, not just tried it

What We Prefer
- 90% or above in both 10th and 12th
- Background in finance, commerce, or accounting
- CMA, CA foundation, or equivalent professional qualification in progress
- Prior experience with financial software — Tally, Zoho Books, QuickBooks, or similar
- A specific example of an error caught in a financial or operational context

To apply: Use the portal where you found this listing. In your application, describe any proof of work specifically — reconciliations produced, reports built, errors caught, Claude outputs acted on. If your work is not publicly shareable, describe it in your application answers. Please do not reach out to team members directly.
If you are shortlisted, you will hear from us. We keep a close eye on responses and move quickly on candidates we want to speak to. Due to the volume of applications we receive, we are not always able to provide individual feedback to those not selected — we regret that, and we mean it.
