Eton Bridge Partners have been retained on a confidential search to appoint a Divisional Finance Director for a leading, globally recognised organisation with significant international scale and complexity.
Reporting to the CFO and sitting on both the Finance Leadership Team and the divisional Senior Leadership Team, this is a high-profile, board-level role requiring an experienced finance leader who combines deep commercial acumen with the personal authority to advise, influence, and challenge at the most senior levels of the organisation.
This is a critical appointment within an organisation undergoing meaningful transformation, where the Finance Director will play a central role in shaping divisional strategy, driving performance, and ensuring a robust financial control environment across a complex, multi-entity, international structure.
The Role
- Driving the division's financial performance, including achievement of financial objectives, and providing clear insight into performance and the actions required to improve it.
- Owning financial strategy for the division and ensuring sound, well-evidenced decision-making across all major commercial activity.
- Partnering the divisional Managing Director and senior leadership team as a trusted advisor on commercial agenda delivery and broader organisational objectives.
- Leading or supporting significant transactions including major contracts, partnerships, joint ventures, and M&A activity.
- Sponsoring or co-leading change and restructuring programmes across the division.
- Ensuring a rigorous financial control and assurance environment, including accurate balance sheet management, policy compliance, and statutory reporting.
- Contributing actively to the development of the broader Finance function, including global policy formulation and finance transformation.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will be a credible, commercially astute senior finance leader with a track record of operating at Board level in a complex, international environment. Specifically, we are looking for:
- A highly experienced finance leader with a demonstrable record in commercial or business partnering roles at Board level.
- Proven ability to operate effectively across a complex, international business, including management of multi-site, cross-border teams.
- Strong commercial judgement and the confidence to make informed, impactful business recommendations and challenge constructively at the most senior levels.
- A trusted advisor profile: able to build effective relationships and exert influence across an organisation without relying on hierarchical authority.
- Experience of leading or contributing to significant transactions or strategic initiatives such as M&A, partnerships, or major restructuring programmes.
- A collaborative, inclusive leadership style with a proactive, change-oriented mindset.
- Relevant professional finance qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally as required.
Experience in digital transformation, new business model design, or cost efficiency programmes would be advantageous.
