An international mining company is seeking a Vice President, Business Planning & Performance to provide strategic leadership across its South American operations and growth portfolio.

Reporting directly to the executive leadership team, this position will be responsible for driving corporate planning, performance management, capital allocation and strategic decision making across a multi asset business. The role will work closely with operational, technical, commercial and finance leaders to ensure the organisation is positioned to achieve its long term growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the corporate strategic planning process, ensuring alignment between business objectives, operating plans and growth initiatives

• Oversee annual budgets, forecasts and long range business plans across multiple operations and development projects

• Advise the executive team on business performance, investment priorities and capital allocation decisions

• Develop and maintain integrated business models to support strategic decision making and value creation initiatives

• Provide leadership on portfolio optimisation, growth opportunities and business improvement programmes

• Support the evaluation of acquisitions, partnerships, joint ventures and other strategic transactions

• Establish and oversee performance management frameworks, KPIs and executive reporting processes

• Partner with operational leadership to identify opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency and financial returns

• Prepare strategic analyses and recommendations for executive leadership, shareholders and the Board

• Build and lead a high performing team focused on planning, performance and decision support

Requirements

• Degree qualified in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Accounting or a related discipline

• Significant leadership experience within mining, metals, natural resources or another capital intensive industry

• Demonstrated success in strategic planning, business performance, commercial management, corporate finance or related leadership functions

• Strong understanding of capital allocation, investment evaluation and value creation within operating and development asset portfolios

• Experience supporting executive leadership and Board level decision making

• Ability to influence and collaborate across technical, operational, commercial and corporate functions

• International experience and exposure to multi asset operations would be advantageous
