Bayer A/S is looking for a motivated and proactive Financial Controller to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional who is eager to learn, take ownership, and develop within a dynamic and international environment.
In this role, you will gain hands-on experience across a wide range of finance topics, including accounting, controlling, statutory reporting, tax, and compliance. You will work closely with both local stakeholders and Bayer’s global finance network.
We are an agile team led by the Head of Group Finance Scandinavia, where collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement are highly valued. The position is located at our office in Copenhagen.
Tasks And Responsibilities
Drive and follow up on entity balance sheet positions, including reconciliations, provisions, accruals and open items in close cooperation with our Shared Service Centers
- Monitor the entity P&L development together with the Finance Business Partners
- Drive Danish local statutory requirements with timely follow up of local financial statements and documentation requests
- Support Shared Services with the month-end and year-end closing activities
- Partner with corporate and divisional stakeholders to provide financial insights
- Support and improve finance processes and tools including local requirements
- Ensure Internal control management is in place and coordinates with all parties.
- Contribute to projects and system implementations
- Drive continuous improvement and digitalization including AI models
- Collaborate across internal functions and divisions
- Support the Finance Lead for Scandinavia and CFO North Europe as needed
Who We Are Looking For
- University degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or similar
- 2–3 years relevant experience (audit experience is an advantage)
- Strong understanding of accounting principles
- Required IT skills, Microsoft office suite, AI
- SAP experience is an advantage.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership
- Structured, detail-oriented mindset
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Comfortable in a dynamic and sometimes ambiguous environment
- Fluent in English and one Scandinavian language
