About the Opportunity
Our client, a rapidly growing FinTech startup in Dubai, is seeking a Financial Controller to lead financial reporting, controls, compliance, and strategic finance initiatives. This is an exciting opportunity for a finance professional who thrives in high-growth environments and enjoys building scalable finance functions from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting processes.
- Prepare management reports, financial statements, and performance dashboards.
- Develop and strengthen financial controls, governance frameworks, and accounting policies.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial planning activities.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and statutory requirements.
- Support investor reporting, fundraising activities, and financial due diligence processes.
- Partner with founders and leadership teams to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making.
- Coordinate external audits and manage relationships with auditors, banking partners, and advisors.
- Oversee treasury, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general accounting functions.
- Drive finance process improvements, automation, and operational efficiencies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or related discipline.
- CA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA, or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
- 5–8 years of relevant finance and accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.
- Experience within FinTech, Payments, Banking, Financial Services, Lending, Wealth Management, or other regulated industries.
- Experience managing audits, compliance, and regulatory reporting.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- Advanced Excel and financial modelling capabilities.
- Experience working with ERP and financial management systems.
Preferred Experience
- Prior experience within a startup or scale-up environment.
- Exposure to fundraising, investor reporting, and board reporting.
- Knowledge of UAE Corporate Tax and VAT regulations.
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
