Operating a diverse multi-site, multi-asset portfolio, the business generates approximately €40 million in revenue and €15 million EBITDA. Backed by a leading Private Equity investor, the organisation is executing an ambitious growth strategy through both acquisitions and greenfield developments, making this an exciting time to join a business that is scaling rapidly while continuing to professionalise its finance function.
The Role:
Reporting directly to the Greece CFO, the Financial Controller will play a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity of the finance function while supporting the business through its next phase of growth. This is a highly visible position requiring both technical excellence and a pragmatic, hands-on approach.
The successful individual will lead the financial reporting, audit and control agenda, while helping to build and enhance finance processes, systems and governance. Working within a lean, collaborative team, they will be expected to adopt a "roll your sleeves up" mentality, recognising that no task is too small if it contributes to improving workflow, controls or business performance.
Beyond technical accounting responsibilities, the Financial Controller will partner closely with senior stakeholders, bringing a commercial perspective to financial reporting and ensuring high-quality financial information supports informed decision making across the business. They will have the ability to translate complex accounting matters into meaningful business insight, adding value beyond the numbers.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Own the statutory audit process and manage relationships with external auditors and advisors.
- Maintain and continuously strengthen the financial control environment, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.
- Develop and improve financial reporting processes, controls and governance as the organisation continues to scale.
- Support the integration of acquisitions and the finance requirements of new site developments.
- Partner with the Greece CFO to deliver accurate, insightful financial information that supports strategic decision making.
- Drive technical accounting excellence across the finance function.
- Support budgeting, forecasting and wider finance projects where required.
- Mentor and develop members of the finance team while fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture.
- Contribute across the finance function with a hands-on approach, supporting operational priorities whenever needed.
The Requirements:
The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent) with a strong foundation in audit before progressing into industry, where they have gained experience leading or managing a finance function.
They will possess outstanding technical accounting knowledge, coupled with the ability to operate commercially and influence senior stakeholders through high-quality financial insight.
The successful individual will thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment and demonstrate resilience, adaptability and a willingness to take ownership across a broad remit.
They will bring:
- Fully qualified accountant status (ACA, ACCA or equivalent).
- A background in external audit with strong technical accounting expertise.
- Experience leading or managing a finance function within a growing organisation.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, statutory accounts, audit and internal controls.
- Experience operating within a Private Equity-backed or high-growth environment would be advantageous.
- Excellent analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- A collaborative, hands-on approach with the mindset that no task is beneath them if it improves the business.
- The ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities and consistently deliver to demanding deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills with the confidence to engage and influence stakeholders across the organisation.
This is an outstanding opportunity to join a high-performing, Private Equity-backed organisation at a transformational stage of its journey. The Financial Controller will have genuine exposure to senior leadership, play a key role in shaping the future finance function and contribute directly to the continued growth and success of the business.
For an ambitious finance professional seeking a role that combines technical excellence, commercial exposure and the opportunity to build and improve within a dynamic environment, this represents an exceptional career opportunity.
