JOB FUNCTIONS

Supports the vision and direction of the Accounting Department by setting clear objectives and goals

Works with accounting staff to prepare management reports to present profitability and other financial activities with the organization

Take full ownership of the month-end close process end to end, including [journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, reporting], ensuring accuracy and timely delivery

Oversee all accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, billing, cost accounting, and revenue recognition

Backup to HR – Payroll

Reporting – Payroll: 401K, Workers Compensation, HSA

Serves as a liaison between team members and upper management, conveying information, updates, and feedback.

Regular follow-up and review of general ledger accounts and account activity to support accurate financial statements.

Provides adequate support of team members, which includes, but is not limited to professional development and being available for team member inquiries.

Accounting and Regulatory Guidance, Processes, and Procedures

Reviews internal Policies & Procedures (P&P) and processes to ensure accurate financial statements and management reports.

Reviews work papers, files, and documentation proved to stakeholders for accuracy and completeness.

Develop, implement and administer controls to ensure proper segregation of duties, authorization and approval, bank account management, and audit and review.

Reviews all company accounting activity, including Profit and Loss (P&L) and Balance Sheet activity to ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Prepares and presents status reports and potential risk exposure to senior management.

Assesses current practices and procedures and identifies areas for improvement and optimization.

Performs final reviews on internal and external reporting and works to ensure reporting deadlines are met.

Ensures compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies governing accounting operations.

Review development of annual operating budget as well as monitoring budget performance.

Evaluates, analyzes, and audits team results while making appropriate improvements to ensure practices are in line with overall goals of the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelors Degree in Accounting/Finance.

Experience in Manufacturing preferred.

Advanced degree a plus.

Certified Public Accountant or similar accounting certification preferred.

Strong understanding and application of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Financial Reporting, and Internal Controls.

Proficient in dealing with changes that can and will occur periodically.

Ability to work in a team environment and work independently.

Experience managing multiple and/or conflicting responsibilities.

Ability to logically understand query definitions and analyze data effectively and efficiently.

Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; willing to provide and receive constructive feedback.

Requires a wide degree of creativity and latitude.

Ability to make complex decisions using high-level of judgement and discretion.

Ability to interpret and establish financial policies and procedures.

Knowledge of policies and practices associated with payroll and benefit administration.

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, specifically with Excel, including its formulas and advanced features.

Ability to effectively use modern enterprise reporting systems.

Will be operating a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a telephone, calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.

Must be comfortable with various forms of communication including but not limited to email, Teams, and over the phone.

Must be able to exchange accurate information at all times.
