About The Role
As a Financial Controller at Surgical Science, you will be part of the finance team of five based at our office in Gårda, Gothenburg. The role sits within the Group Finance function, and you will work closely with both the Business and Financial Controller in Gothenburg as well as with colleagues in our finance functions in Tel Aviv, Cleveland and Cardiff.
This is a partly new role, reflecting the growth of our organization and the expanding needs of our finance function. It is a broad role, with significant cross-functional contact throughout the organization. The finance function is under constant development and improvement, and it is therefore important that you thrive in a flexible environment. Your day-to-day work will include a mix of longer-term projects and ad-hoc tasks.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage and develop the global budget process, including follow-up and variance analysis
- Play a part in the monthly and quarterly close processes and deliver reports and insights to management and business leaders
- Develop and produce analytical reports and decision-supporting materials
- Drive continuous improvement of processes, routines and working methods within the finance function
- Support decision-making across all areas of the business with accurate and timely analysis
This position will report to Senior Director, Group Finance and Accounting.
Your profile
We are looking for someone with a few years of experience in a similar role with a solid understanding of and interest for the bigger picture. You are a proactive team player with the ability to work independently, with a strong business interest as well as interest in improving and developing processes and ways of working.
To succeed in this role, you take initiative, embrace change, and communicate clearly. You take responsibility in a structured, results-oriented way – and you know how to build strong relationships across different functions and levels of the organization.
What We're Looking For
- Relevant academic degree: University degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
- A few years of experience in a similar controlling or finance role
- Strong proficiency in Excel – this is a must
- Knowledge and curiosity around Power BI or equivalent tools and AI are a plus
- Experience with Business Central, Microsoft Dynamics NAV or similar ERP systems is a plus
- Fluent in English (spoken and written) and comfortable working in a global team setting
