Adecco is currently hiring a Financial Controller for a strategic leadership role within a growing organization. Responsibilities
- Lead monthly and quarterly financial close, including P&L, balance sheet, WIP, and cash flow reporting
- Oversee project cost accounting activities such as budgeting, progress billings, holdbacks, and change orders
- Drive accuracy in Estimate at Completion (EAC) forecasting and Work-in-Progress (WIP) reviews
- Partner with operations to improve forecasting, margin tracking, and overall decision-making
- Manage Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, payroll, and cash flow with strong internal controls
- Lead annual budgeting and rolling forecasts, aligning financial planning with project backlog and pipeline
- Own and optimize the ERP system (Jonas Premier), including automation, reporting, and dashboard creation
- Develop financial insights and reporting tools to support leadership decision-making
- Coach and mentor the finance team, fostering growth, accountability, and collaboration
- Represent Finance within the EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System), supporting performance tracking and execution
Qualifications
- Must be eligible to work and reside within Canada
- CPA designation (CA, CGA, or CMA preferred)
- 7-10+ years of experience in construction, general contracting, or project-based environments
- Strong expertise in job costing, WIP, and revenue recognition
- Advanced proficiency in Excel (including Power Query and Pivot Tables)
- Experience with ERP systems;
Jonas Premier is considered a strong asset - Deep understanding of ASPE/GAAP, progress billing, subcontractor compliance, and bonding/insurance requirements
- Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills
- Hands-on approach with the ability to work cross-functionally with operations teams
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and drive results in a fast-paced environment
