POSITION OVERVIEW
The Financial Controller will serve as a key member of the senior leadership team, overseeing all aspects of the firm's financial operations and reporting functions. Reporting directly to the CEO, this individual will collaborate directly with the OCFO and be responsible for maintaining the integrity of the firm's financial statements, managing the general ledger, and ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements across all office locations.
As a rapidly growing Registered Investment Advisor with $5 billion in assets under management, the firm requires a technically strong and operationally minded financial professional who can build scalable processes, lead a distributed accounting team, and provide the financial visibility leadership needs to drive strategic decisions. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in investment management or financial services accounting, a thorough understanding of revenue recognition tied to AUM-based fee structures, and the ability to partner cross-functionally with operations, compliance, and business development teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop financial strategy, including risk minimization plans and opportunity forecasting
- High-level financial reporting and analysis
- Regular budget consolidation
- Cash flow management
- Oversee the annual audit process, including coordinating with external auditors, managing the audit timeline, and preparing supporting workpapers and schedules
- Manage lender reporting and covenant compliance tracking, including preparing periodic financial packages required under credit agreements
- Support SEC financial reporting requirements, including assisting with ADV filings and maintaining the financial records necessary to satisfy regulatory obligations
- Support unit issuance and equity-level financial reporting in the context of M&A activity, including tracking unit economics, supporting purchase accounting, and maintaining cap table-related financial records
- Improve efficiencies and reduce costs across the business
- Keep stakeholders informed and involved in key areas of financial operations
- Debt management and collection
- Ensure compliance with statutory law and financial regulations
- Payroll processing
- Work closely with management or executive teams to share reports and analysis findings
- Mentor junior finance team members (if applicable)
- Provide reporting and data to capital partner
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in either Finance, Economics, or Accounting
- CPA designation preferred
- 5+ years’ experience in a similar role
- Experience or exposure to wealth management firms a benefit
Technical Skills
- Deep knowledge of US GAAP
- Expertise in financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience with modern GL/accounting systems
