Morgan McKinley is partnering with a collaborative Education organisation based in Bath, to recruit a Financial Controller.
The Role
Reporting to the Finance Director as a key member of the finance leadership team, you will be responsible for managing the financial control environment and supporting the strategy focused on ensuring financial sustainability.
Responsibilities will include:
- Support with preparation of budgets and forecasts including the annual 5-year financial plan
- Leadership and development of team
- Create and maintain a robust financial control environment
- Oversight of monthly management accounts including variance analysis and supporting commentary
- Statutory returns including year-end financial statements
- Oversight of treasury and banking services
- Management of cash flow and cash flow forecasting
- Support for the year-end external audit cycle
The Person
To be considered for this role, you will be a Qualified Accountant with experience of leading and developing a successful team.
Higher Education experience is desirable, and you will need a proven track record of preparing financial forecasts and annual budgets, and developing and enhancing management accounts.
You will also need to be a strong business partner with excellent stakeholder management and leadership skills, and strong technical accounting knowledge.
