We are seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join our clients Finance team in Mayfair. This role is central to delivering high‑quality financial reporting, robust analysis, and accurate execution of financial processes across the Bank. You will work closely with the Financial Controller and wider business to ensure the Bank meets all internal, external, and regulatory reporting requirements.

To be considered, you must have a minimum of 2–3 years’ experience working within a UK bank. Applications without UK banking experience cannot be progressed.
🔹 Key Responsibilities
- Prepare annual statutory accounts in line with UK GAAP and manage all audit queries.
- Lead the monthly data submissions to External Auditors and oversee all related reviews.
- Produce high‑quality management information, including daily reporting, monthly management accounts, and insightful financial analysis.
- Oversee timely reconciliation of Nostro and Control accounts, ensuring all reconciling items are cleared promptly.
- Monitor and report on the reconciliation status of all general ledger accounts.
- Manage the submission of all HMRC tax returns, including CRS/FATCA and Corporation Tax.
- Recommend and support process improvements to enhance efficiency and control.
- Provide financial input into the Bank’s IT transformation projects.
- Support the Bank’s AML, financial crime, and compliance culture, ensuring full adherence to policies and escalation requirements.
- Ensure Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) and Consumer Duty principles are upheld.
- Provide ongoing support to the Financial Controller and contribute to wider departmental objectives.
Requirements (Essential)
- Part‑qualified or QBE Accountant.
- 2–3 years’ finance experience within a UK banking environment (small bank experience advantageous).
- Strong understanding of statutory reporting, reconciliations, and financial controls.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across functions such as Retail, Credit, Treasury, Trade Operations, and Compliance.
- Strong analytical skills, sound judgement, and a consistent drive to deliver high‑quality work.
