Financial Accountant (12-Month Fixed Term Contract)

Carpet Call Group is seeking an experienced and commercially minded Financial Accountant to join our Finance team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in the integration of a recently acquired business into the Carpet Call Group, supporting financial reporting, process improvement, systems implementation, and the strengthening of financial controls.
Working closely with the Finance Transformation & Integration Lead and broader finance team, you will contribute to a range of high-impact initiatives, including year-end reporting, audit readiness, tax compliance, and the implementation of a perpetual inventory environment.
About the Role
Key responsibilities include:
✅ Supporting the integration of financial processes, systems, and reporting into Group standards
✅ Assisting with year-end financial reporting and consolidation into the Carpet Call Group
✅ Supporting tax and compliance obligations, including GST, FBT, Income Tax, Payment Times Reporting, WGEA and Sustainability Reporting
✅ Assisting with internal and external audit processes and audit readiness activities
✅ Identifying control gaps and supporting the implementation of improved financial controls
✅ Supporting system enhancements and finance process improvements
✅ Assisting with the implementation of a perpetual inventory environment
✅ Working with operational teams to improve BOM accuracy, job costing, inventory management and Work-In-Progress (WIP) controls across manufacturing and retail operations
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
• CA or CPA qualification (or be near completion)
• Strong financial accounting and reporting experience
• Experience supporting audits, compliance and statutory reporting requirements
• A solid understanding of inventory accounting, job costing and WIP management
• Strong systems aptitude and process improvement capability
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
• The ability to work collaboratively across finance and operational teams in a changing environment
